Hello, my name is Angie and I have created this LFEBridge for my dearest nephew Gabriel Hernandez, son of my brother Guillermo Hernandez in hopes to reach a promising goal by July. Gabriel, who is an honor roll student at Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College located on the Newtown North Dakota Native American Reserve and who is a fine star player in his Basketball Team Storm struggles to get around to school and make it on time for school as well as basketball practices and games. He has found means to get around such as bike rides, taking the local bus, friends, and even taking his grandmother's car at times when necessary. Those of us that know and love him are trying to find a way to alleviate the stress of transportation so he can finish college on time and not fall behind with school or basketball practice. In short, he is a beautiful young man with a bright future and is set to complete his schooling next year. The goal is to provide the cash fund by his 21st birthday July 17. His mother Rose, wishes to restrain from informing him about the funds until his Birthday to surprise him on his day. As a reward of appreciation for all his great efforts to educate himself. A little personal note about Gabriel: He is the brightest and courage's person we know. He is kind, compassionate, loves and accepts others, and he is a dynamite when he is motivated in achieving his goals. He is half Native American enrolled tribal member of the Mandan, Hidatsa & Arikara tribes of North Dakota as well as Lakota tribe of South Dakota, born South Dakota and Central American from El Salvador on behalf of his father. He has his father's characteristics, ambition in hustling in finances, in additional to acquiring his basketball skills. He has his mother's strength of a warrior and defined survivor skills when executing a plan. The mix of these two wonderful people has created an astonishing human being who carries a golden heart on his sleeve and a lovable heart for those in need. At the age of 4, he lost his father in a tragic situation that devastated him for many years. As a teenager, like all other teens, the transition was a little rough but an educational one. Witnessing poverty and the love of his community he grew companioned about others in hopes to help. Gabriel's championships with basketball growing up and joining the local Boys and Girls Club basketball team, led him on to the Denver Indian Center basketball team and right into High School which led him to basketball college. His will power and brain circuits motivated him soon enough to commit to enroll in a more traditional Native American college on the reservation of North Dakota. His first year had a few rough patches on the road but with small adjustments he overcame it. In his last year of college, he has become more motivated and ambitious than ever before. He has not given up nor does he want to give up. I humbly ask you, “Can you give him a helping hand through a small donation towards a reliable automobile!!!” $20 or $40 all is welcome. PS: Watch the first minute as Gabriel storms down the court making a basket.
