Hello, My name is Quinn Rutman. I started dancing ballet when I was 3 yrs old. It was apparent quickly that ballet was my passion, and I wanted to pursue it as a career. It takes 10 yrs of difficult training to get just the primary form of a ballet body. In 2024, I started my 10th yr dancing with the Ballet Chicago and became part of the school's prestigious Ballet Chicago Studio Company. If you live in Chicago, you might have seen me in The Nutcracker at the Athenaeum Theater or performing at the Harris Theater for the annual "Balanchine Beyond" series. I received a full scholarship to Harid Ballet Conservatory for their month-long summer intensive program. Ballet dancers start auditioning young to go away from home, training intensely in the summer at various schools. These summers begin to set up a resume for dancers based on where they studied and what scholarships are given. Harid has offered me a spot in the entire year-high school program, which includes exceptional ballet training and a high school on campus. I only need to raise the remaining balance for housing in the dorms . While I have applied and received some financial aid, it is not enough at this time to be able to accept. Classical ballet dancers train 35-40 hrs a week, six days a week, and give up daily life. We are happy to do it because it means dancing, my soul's passion. My dream is to be in dance in a ballet company. Training at Harid will give me everything I need to move to the next level; the rigorous training program will propel me to a Ballet Company when I graduate! It is an opportunity I hope you can help me to achieve. No amount is too small; I hope you can find it in your heart to be a patron of the arts. Specifically, you will be helping me to become the professional I want to be. To be able to accept and start my high school training at Harid Ballet Conservatory would be an honor, as the program is highly selective. Please visit www.harid.org in order to find out more.
