Freddie and Charlotte, the two farm pigs in the Calcasieu Parish Shelter in Louisiana still need our help! Esther's Army alerted us to their dire situation this past August and together as a united army we pulled together to not only find them a forever home at the Cotton Branch Sanctuary in South Carolina, but to provide sponsorship for them as well. Due to difficulty in finding suitable transport for the two in the heat of the summer, their stay at the shelter was extended. Once the temperatures cooled off making it safe for travel, and a suitable trailer was secured, horrible storms hit the area and roads were washed out due to flooding. Once again their happily ever after was delayed. The shelter has informed us that their time has run out and they need to be out of the shelter this week.  They are concerned for the health of the pigs, as they have been subjected to hard concrete for far too long. Arrangements have been made for them to be picked up this Wednesday by a transporter out of Missouri. The cost to transport the two from Louisiana to Cotton Branch is $1750. Time is of the essence!  We need your help in raising these funds immediately so we can get these two precious souls to safety. They have both been through so much already. Freddie, only 6 months old when he was picked up, had been used as a bait pig for hunting dogs. Charlotte came from terrible conditions as well. Despite all they’ve been through, they show no aggression and appreciate the snacks and attention the staff shares with them. Please help us to get them to their new home! No amount is too small. Together we can bring Freddie and Charlotte home! Thank you so much for caring! (All of the money raised will go to paying for their transport fees. If there is any left over, it will go to the sanctuary to help provide for their needs.)
