Hi My name is Clarence N M Coggins. In the 1990’s I had the pleasure of traveling to Georgetown, Guyana . While I was there I wrote a heartwarming tale about a young girl from New York City who went to visit her aunt when she was getting ready to get married. She told her aunt, “Auntie, I Don’t Want You To Get Married”. This is the title of my first children’s book and the start of the series Danielle the Girl From NY. I have had this picture book translated into GA. GA is one of the indigenous languages of Ghana which some believe is in danger of extinction. It’s the purpose of this project to help build a cultural, economic and social bridge between the United States of America and Ghana. We are using a Ghana based printer and donating all the books to local schools in Accra. The books are in both English and GA. This is a pilot project that we hope to expand to more countries and languages. It’s our sincere hope that you see the value in our effort and make this an overwhelming success.
