My grandmother Keun-Sil lived a long wonderful life and was 90 years young when she, unfortunately, passed away on July 23, 2024. She was born and raised in what is now North Korea and immigrated to the South during the war. From there she worked hard all her life for everything that she had. She was an entrepreneur back in Korea that made a comfortable life for her two children, Jong Hwa and Theresa Lee. Wanting a better life for her two children she sold everything and moved here to the States in the late 70s where she continued to be an entrepreneur to make a better life for her family. After she retired, she spent her days going to church, praying, and spending time with her family. Today she lives on through the love and memory of her daughter, five grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Anyone who knew my grandmother knew that by the way she dressed and acted she loved to be eccentric and loved to show it from the clothes she wore to the flowers she would buy and put all over her house. So that is what I hope to do for her one more time, make her last celebration in life as colorful and beautiful as she was.
