KEN SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP TO PROMOTE THE TRADES Ken Smith was a contractor for 30 years. He loved working in the trades and creating homes for others, making their visions come alive. He had an uncanny ability to "see" what people wanted and create it for them with perfection and style. There were no impossible visions for Ken. During those 30 years, he found fewer and fewer young people entering the trades. Towards the end of his career, it was almost impossible to hire a young person to work for his company. Students were being pushed to college degrees that, although good for some, were not good for everyone. Ken always wished young people could see how successful he has been and realize that you can achieve personal and financial success in the trades, without all the student loan debt. Unfortunately, far too early, cancer took Ken. In honor of his commitment to the trades, his wife Mari would like to create a scholarship in his honor for local students who are pursuing a career in the trades. Help honor Ken's legacy!
