John Francis & The Poor Clares are ready to record our first full length album and need your help to make it happen! We’re also seeking a budget to create professional quality live video of the band for your viewing pleasure and for marketing material as we endeavor to take our music to the world! For four years we have been pleasing ears and lightening hearts with original music in Santa Fe, where our Wednesday night residency at El Rey Court has become a staple of the local music and nightlife scene. Now we’re ready to take our music beyond Santa Fe. We are set for a recording date in August with Grammy award winning recording engineer Marc Whittmore at The Kitchen Sink Studio in Santa Fe. We still need help in paying for the session, hiring a production team and creating beautiful videos to accompany. As you have probably noticed, there is very little video or recording content of this band you love so much….it’s literally because we can’t afford it, no need to beat around the bush here. One of our core band members, Casey (bass/harmony vocals) will be leaving in just over a month to move to England for graduate studies and we want to capture the magic of the band as you have known it in the best possible quality! We’re so excited to make this record and are deep in pre-production work to ensure that we get the most out of our studio time. Our focus over the next year will turn heavily to marketing and gaining exposure. We have begun talks with a great management team here in Santa Fe and with their help and this product in hand feel very confident in their ability to help move us forward.
