-To everyone who has contributed to my pursuit of the summer programme at John Hopkins University. Hello Everyone, I started the programme on July 24th, and it opens the door to a whole new world, which is more than I ever anticipated. This course is intense, and though I may have slightly underestimated what such a prestigious school could offer, it would be impossible for me without your support and God on my side. There are two (2) modules in the course; with each module being separated into dense lectures that follow up with quizzes. We are graded on a curve with discussions, debates, quizzes, peer reviews, group projects, and individual projects, all contributing to our final grade. My ability to experience such a wonderful course is all thanks to you who have contributed. Whether it be money, time, words of encouragement, or sharing my story with others, you have all invested in me and for that, I extend a big THANK YOU. A special thanks to the ICHS Alumni. It fills my heart with joy when I see how they have supported my endeavour and what they are doing to assist students like me. I am incredibly grateful for their contribution and aspire to give back to the ICHS community when I accomplish my career goal of becoming a neurologist. This 2-week journey at JHU (Johns Hopkins University) promises to be one filled with excitement, critical thinking, dedication, and hard work. As for the latter, I will ensure I work hard to make all your investments worthwhile. I am looking forward to your continued support for my future adventures. Sincerely Yours, Danielle Yulando Jurnee Elliott Your Future Neurologist *** Good day all: Please note that the goal registered for this cause is $2500 USD to accomodate the cost of contribution to LFEBridge as well as supplies needed to participate in the program such as books, sutures, lab materials etc. My name is Danielle Elliott. I am 15 years old and recently graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School. I aspire to become a neuro engineer because the Human brain has always fascinated me and I have a creative spirit, which would be beneficial to the development of devices for neuro improvement. Some time ago, I applied for a pre-college course at the John- Hopkins university and got accepted to start their program on July 24. However, I have encountered a small hiccup; finances. I currently live in lower-middle income household with my single parent mother. Though she is proud of my efforts and wishes to assist with the cost, she is unable to due to debts acquired by the enormous extra-lesson billings she received after the completion of my CSEC examinations. The cost of the program is USD $1950. I have been looking forward to participating in this program as the course I have requested to be part of is “Neuroscience and Human Behavior”. Engaging in this course will give me a scope of what to expect from courses in my later studies in Neuroscience as well as solidify my decision to pursue this discipline. Financial assistance would be greatly appreciated with a personal promise to do my best in this program, making your contribution worthwhile. It would be a great disappointment to not be able to participate in a pre-college program facilitated by the school I wish to attend in the near future. Whatever contribution, great or small is received with utmost gratitude. As my alma mater’s motto states: “Ad Astra per Aspera”- Through difficulty to the stars/ excellence Thank you in Advance Danielle Elliott Jamaica-
