This is one of the hardest things I have ever experienced. As many of you may know by now, on July 4th, my mother, Wendy Racine and my 3 year old nephew, Jeremiah Yard were in a tragic accident. My mother was watching Jeremiah and brought him out to play in the yard. Upon walking outside an enormous tree fell, striking them and causing them both to have severe injuries. This incident resulted in the death of Jeremiah and my mother in ICU with multiple injuries.  Jeremiah was a sweet beautiful boy, whose life was taken too soon. He was my younger sister’s only child and her whole world. Words cannot express the heartbreak that a mother experiences when she loses a child. When the tree fell, it also hit the side of my mother’s house, causing significant damage to the property. These damages are not going to be repaired, and she and my younger brother will need to move out and find another place to live. My mother has a long recovery ahead and will be staying with family once she gets out of the hospital, however, she and my brother will then have to find a new place to live. Both my sister and mother are dealing with the tremendous loss of Jeremiah as well as our entire family. My sister has lost her baby, my mother has lost her grandson and her home. My mother will be out of work for an extended period of time, and right now, our family is just trying to get through each day -- one at a time. I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Those of you who have checked in, called, or texted to voice your condolences or check in on the status of my mother and sister. It has meant a lot. If anyone would like to donate funds, these will be going towards Jeremiah’s funeral expenses, outstanding medical bills, ongoing storage until my mother can get secure a new place to live and living expenses. If you are not able to donate, please keep my sister and mother in your thoughts and prayers.
