Hello Family and Friends, I am writing to inform you of the sudden passing of our mother Iris Bennett. It’s devastating but we are grateful that we were able to stop by her house last weekend and spend some time with her before her passing Monday night. She had a great time with her grandchildren. We thank the Lord for allowing us to cherish a lot of other great memories and milestones! Everything is just happening so fast and my heart is heavy. We have a lot to prepare for and we’re taking it one step at a time. My mother dedicated her life to helping children of all ages and was nicknamed the “The Baby Whisperer”. Kids have a great way of picking up on someone’s great spirit and kind heart. That was our mother every day! I have to thank her for all the values and morals that she has instilled in me. She worked over 20 years with the Alexandria City and Fairfax County Foster Care programs. Then continued her career working in the nursery at First Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. I’m creating this fund to assist with burial and autopsy costs. My mother did not want a funeral, we are honoring her wishes and doing a graveside service. Please have that tough conversation with your loved ones and friends about Life Insurance and a Will. Especially if it’s something they started years ago, be sure to check the value and make sure everything is up to date. As we all know, pricing on everything has increased. We pray that those who are able would consider donating. I am so very grateful for every donation and we appreciate your prayers during this difficult time. With Love, William Bennett BURIAL INFORMATION Bethel Cemetery Graveside Service Thursday, July 27th, 2024 11 am 1430 Wilkes Street Alexandria, VA 22314
