Original - Sharon leaves family and friends forever thankful for her honesty, high standards, compassion, generosity and resilience. She led by example with a strong work ethic and was quick to lend a helping hand. With her infectious smile and endless kindness and grace, she always saw the good in others and had a way of making people around her feel at home. One of her last requests was to donate a memorial bench to a park in the Bothell community where she lived with her family and raised her children. The bench will be a place to celebrate her life and where friends and family can visit to remember this loving and beautiful soul. Update - At the heart warming celebration of life for Sharon, her oldest son, Kyle, expressed a vision for a memorial for his Mom. He fondly remembers all the time she volunteered at the elementary school he and his brother attended. Since she was a teacher at one time and loved flowers/gardening, we are working towards creating a memorial garden, designed by Kyle, at the school along with the bench Sharon requested. Been a little while so thought I’d post an update - working with admin and the PTA at Frank Love Elementary; currently coordinating efforts with the PTA to collect bottle caps to get a recycled bench for the playground. I know Sharon would love the idea of a bench with a plaque including the PTA name and hers as she donated a lot of time to FLE PTA when her boys were attending the school. Still an uphill trek, but the forward movement is encouraging.
