Hello all, On August 2, 2024, my little brother Michael, and my sister-in-law Lorena, were in a tragic car accident. Lorena was 8 months pregnant and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, after arriving at the hospital, Lorena passed away, but doctors were able to deliver the baby who my brother named Michael Jr. He was put in ICU with numerous doctors at his bedside providing him with the best medical care possible. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the accident, Michael Jr or who I would’ve called Mikey, sustained major injuries where his body wasn’t reacting to the medication. We prayed and prayed hoping for a miracle. Mikey fought as much as he could but later gained his wings to join his mommy. Michael and Lorena were the definitions of peanut butter and jelly. There was never a day were you didn’t see them together. They were the perfect match being both shy with their unique personalities. They were ready to embark on a new journey as parents. Lorena meant so much to Michael and I can't thank her enough for the way she took care of my little brother. They were together for six years. Lorena was the backbone of her family. A little more than a year ago, she lost her father and helped her mother with her younger siblings, Aly, Betsy, and Gerardo Jr or Yeyo. She was like their second mom and they meant so much to her. Lorena was always there to make sure every single one of them was taken care of. She was the true definition of a warrior. Lorena was only 24 years old with so much ahead of her and we will miss her dearly. Funeral arrangements have been made but we would appreciate any donations for any expenses that come along the way in the future. My brother Michael sustain minor injuries and is doing well physically. Please continue to keep him and Lorena’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
