With a heavy heart, we are sad to share the passing of our brother, Steve Yang. We are the family of Steve and his wife Amy Vang and we are looking for any donations during this hard time for Amy. On Saturday morning July 8th, 2024, Steve experienced chest pain he described felt like a heart attack. Steve and Amy went to the ER and after a long wait, they decided to go back home. A few hours later, Steve had the same symptoms, but this time it felt worse with severe shortness of breath. Amy insisted they call an ambulance, where they went to Mercy Hospital. After a CT scan, Steve was diagnosed with Type A Aortic Dissection and he underwent an emergency surgery. Steve had a successful 8 hour aortic reconstruction surgery, but within 24 hours, he had developed multi-organ failure. Within the week, he went through a total of 4 surgeries. On Monday, July 17th, Steve was extubated because he was improving. Everyone was feeling positive because he was communicating and expressing his needs. However, on the early morning of July 18th, he took a sudden turn. Unfortunately, after an hour of CPR, the healthcare providers declared his time of death. Steve and Amy recently bought their first home in April and a new truck. Steve was working as a CMM programmer while attending school part-time for software engineering. They were looking forward to building their family in their new home. Steve's passing was sudden and heartbreaking. He was a lively and funny person who cared deeply for his family. He was enthusiastic and enjoyed karaoke, fishing, and socializing -- he often brought family and friends together. He is survived by his 3-year-old daughter Everie & his wife Amy Vang, who is 8 months pregnant with their baby boy. Steve & Amy have known each other since the 1st grade. They were together for 10 years and married for 6 of those years. We appreciate your generous contributions. All donations will go to Amy, towards Steve's medical, funeral and other outstanding expenses. Thank you.
