Roger was an amazing “big” baby brother to me. Taller, so bigger than me; but still my baby brother. Smart, witty, and so funny. An amazing father to his son Noah. Always sharing with me Noah’s accomplishments and telling me how proud he was of him. Roger was a great friend to many people. I know his sudden death is affecting you all as well. So many of you have reached out to me to share your stories and kind words. All of these have helped me get through these past few days. Roger was young when our mother passed away from cancer. Often times he’d call me his other mother. He’d call me all hours of the day looking for words of wisdom and support. “Mandy, I need your advice!” I gave him everything I could and yes, felt like the mother he needed. It’s as I’ve lost one of my own children. His sudden passing has me reeling. So many questions left unanswered and feeling like I could have done more. His battle within was bigger than I could have ever imagined. My grief is overwhelming. With his death being so so sudden, we do not have the necessary funds to lay him to rest. I come to you asking to donate whatever you can to help our family during this tragic time. To help provide my sweet nephew with some funds for whatever he may need in the future. I want Roger to finally be able to rest. To know the battle is over and to be at peace in God’s loving arms and with my mom again. To know he’s loved my so many of us. If you’re unable to donate, your prayers are enough. God’s blessings to you all. ~Amanda Brake
