We come to you with heavy hearts to report that we have lost an angel on Earth. RaeShaun was tragically taken from us early this week. He was 26, just starting his life out as an independent adult. He survived tragic events in his teenage years and finally, he was nearly self-sustainable… enjoying his recent move-out to his own apartment. It was so unexpected… our family is coping with the loss. We now have to say goodbye to a son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend. He IS an important part of our family and an asset to the Louisville area with ties to Hikes Point, Ballard High School, and various AAU teams throughout the city, as well as Carbondale, Illinois, the Chicagoland area, and South Florida. Shaun was a talented young man, he played football, excelled in basketball, and enjoyed creating his own music. We are in great need to ease the financial burden. Much like many young adults, who do not imagine a premature passing, Shaun nor the family is prepared to undergo this financial expense. His mom, Dalili, is dealing with this grief in the most humble way she can. Let’s help offset the cost of his celebration of life and possibly give scholarships in his honor to prospective AAU basketball players. We want to remember RaeShaun and his quirky spirit that was beloved by all. He was a standout basketball player in his youth, transitioning into a responsible young man, and an overall asset to our family. He will be greatly missed by all. Unfortunately, life has put us in this unimaginable situation that requires immediate funds for his burial, to say goodbye to this beautiful soul. He was full of life and the possibilities for his future were endless. We want to remember him in that way. I would like the help of friends and family, as well as the community, to rally together to support RaeShaun's mother, Dalili D. Having already gone through this type of loss; she needs to appropriately say goodbye and lay her son to rest to continue with the grieving process. If you would like to donate directly to the funeral home, services are being prepared by Rodgers-Awkard & Lyons Funeral Home 951 S. Preston St. Louisville, KY 40203 Service is scheduled for August 12th at 1 pm We appreciate all the love and support!
