Most of you know that my mom, Beatriz, is battling cancer for the second time. She was first diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in the fall of 2014, which spread to stage 3 rapidly within weeks. She ultimately beat it a year later. Now, 8 years later it's returned with a vengeance. She was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in May of 2024. She has been unable to work after this diagnosis. The cancer ate away at her humerus (arm bone) and she underwent surgery that placed a metal rod in her arm to keep it from breaking further. She's undergone multiple rounds of radiation, different chemotherapy drugs, and more. This past November she was unresponsive and I performed CPR on her until medics came. She had to be intubated and spent a week in the Intensive Care Unit after that. About a week after she was discharged from the ICU she had a gallbladder attack and needed surgery. We spent about 3 days in the hospital after that before she was discharged, just in time for Thanksgiving. It has been a long and difficult battle for her this year. The doctors tell us her liver is beginning to fail her. She's unable to do her activities of daily living alone. Despite all of these trials and tribulations my mom continues to have a positive outlook on life. She has incredible mental fortitute and finds joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Her very strong love and faith in God keeps her grounded and gives her strength to keep pushing forward. We ask for assistance in helping pay for her treatments, covering accumulating medical bills, and any other expenses she may require. We want to provide our mom with the best care and to make her as comfortable as we possibly can as she fights her battle. Please help Beatriz in any way that you are able to, whether that is keeping Beatriz in your prayers, sharing this story on your social medias, or with a donation that we would greatly appreciate. Your compassion, prayers, and encouragement can help her battle with cancer. Thank you all in advance.
