DONATE

Update: We have attained our original goal for equipment. (Total for equipment costs $24,000+. (Any funds above this goes to the hurricane repairs.) Further, once we reach 25k, we have a full match! :-) We have had hurricane damage expenses to do ALL work to get Wambaw and Enoree open for riding. We next have Parsons Mountain and Cedar Springs OHV sites to tackle. Donations will be shared with those few who have assisted us with repairs; covering their expenses for travel, tools and time. This was intense hard labor work that we worked hard and fast for prime riding season. We are not compensated by USFS for anything. (One season pass to volunteers was kindly offered by USFS to each.) Each person with a saw used at least one chain per day! As most of you know, we have been basically working solely, aside from one major groom yearly (of which we also assist) to keep local trails OPEN and clear enough to ride safely, enjoyably and create great memories while enjoying the outdoors. It has been almost entirely just the two of us riders/volunteers for the past seven years now, with over 6,000 hard labor hours combined, as well as over $50k of our own monies, even rescuing many break downs and injuries (always has been free of charge, but at a cost to us)-and we need support from our rider community to do a better job, provide monthly maintenance and care for what we all know is a desperate need (that is not provided by local officials as should be). Due to the sandy conditions of these woods trails, which is atypical of most OHV trails, specific equipment is a must to care properly. The custom made unit with shipping is just under $10,000 plus we need to pull this with a 750 or larger atv or trail sized utv which we can secure with a discount for just under $10,000. We have all hand tools we require and will continue to donate our time and equipment we have already purchased on our own. Fuel, oils and equipment maintenance and trailering will be ongoing, and we will manage this as well. We had a more heavy duty atv to use, but it completely burned to the ground while pulling a trail grooming rake a few years ago. New one from Polaris went back to original donor. One supporter generously offered his smaller atv so we can at least tend and trim out there for now.  If you prefer to purchase the equipment directly to donate and/or donate to our Southern Trail Advocates and Riders dba STAR nonprofit 501c3 for a full tax deduction, this can be arranged. Message us for details on this on our Wambaw Trail Riders facebook page. Further, we are both pro racers/instructors and have excellent references. We are very well known in the rider community for all we have contributed and the numerous riders and locals we have assisted. We have been committed to advocating for the trails and plan to continue to do so.
