Sophie in the words of her family, can be defined but certainly not limited to; stunning, amazing and loved. A person that can bring joy and smile to all she greets and knows no bounds in her abilities.  Sophie is on the spectrum of autism. Where some additional focus is needed at times. Due to the current economic hardship we all endure, and the cost of living crisis. The Borough where Sophie and her family live, has been declared bankrupt three times in 3 years. The family had fought for 3 years to gain an EHCP (education health and care plan). Once the governing bodies agreed on Sophies needs with education and granted an EHCP, it unfortunately means no mainstream school can enroll Sophie into their systems. Whilst applying for multiple disability schools, none can cater to her as she's too advanced with her educational capabilities. The Schools the Borough had presented, cater to the violent or more educationally challenged. Leaving no choice but for the family to homeschool Sophie.  The money raised for Sophie, will go to her family. Where they see fit in order to see that she still has access to a good education from home. So that she has books to read, pens to use, papers to write on and tests to take.  In order to raise money for Sophie, I'm swimming the English Channel in a relay team with two others. The busiest shipping lane in the word, 500-600 boats pass through it each day. I'll swim for 4 hours in cold conditions in September this year. Battling against tides, unpredictable current and those ba***rd jelly fishes.  The world isn't fair, but through unity and compassion, it can be a better place.  Here for Sophie.
