Hello, my name is Jennifer, I am raising money to help with Hope’s medical, bills, and expenses. Hope is a female German Shepherd, approximately two years old. She was found by a good Samaritan in El Paso, Texas outside their office building. She posted her to the neighborhood app because Hope appeared to be injured and needed help. I came and picked Hope up and took her to the vet. Hope has no microchip and she appears to be homeless. She has three broken teeth from an old injury. She still has her winter coat (no one has brushed it out for her). Her paw pads were very dry and rough, and she was very skinny underneath all that fur she’s only 57lbs. It appears that she’s had puppies sometime in the recent past. Hope was hit by a car. She has a fractured front leg. And is currently waiting on x-rays to assess further injuries and the seriousness of the fracture. She is currently on pain medication at vet and waiting on labs and her x-rays to be read. Current estimates for her vet bill without knowing the extent of her injuries are over $1,500 which I have already paid. Hope has road rash that the vet will be cleaning up. She has diminished breath sounds, but is currently getting enough oxygen. They are hopefully she just has contusions on her lungs, but are doing X-rays to make sure it’s nothing more serious. She also is having a lot of pain in her back hips. They are hoping it’s just soft tissue injuries but they are going to check and make sure she doesn’t have any fractures. They veterinarian staff is already in love with her sweet demeanor and is taking great care of her. I got to pet and love on her before I had to leave her there. I want to make sure that this beautiful dog gets the medical attention, love and home she deserves. Please help me give us that to her! I will provide updates as available! **UPDATE*** 11:30 pm 6JUL23 The emergency vet called me to let me know Hope will need surgery on her front leg. Both her tibia and fibula are fractured. She also has a minor fracture in her pelvis, but they said this should heal with rest on its own. They are referring us to West Texas Veterinary Services for her surgery as it is not something they do at their clinic. I do not know how much her surgery will cost. I have raise her fundraiser to $3,000 for now as the emergency vet bill was over $1,500. Hope has a long road ahead as she heals and gets the proper healthcare she needs. Thank you for helping us out!
