Imelda and her family are mourning the sudden loss of Imelda's father. Imelda is a summer law clerk in the Workers' Rights' Program, currently attending law school in order to become an attorney. She and her family were not prepared for the news or the expenses that follow. In the midst of this hard time, Imelda and her family are working to make funeral and burial arrangements and to find the funds to cover those expenses. We hope to raise money to offer some support for those costs. Imelda's father moved from Mexico to California in the 90s and worked as a field worker for 30+ years. On Saturday, he was hit by a vehicle and passed away instantaneously. He leaves behind three children, four grandchildren, his mother, and several siblings. Imelda has demonstrated she's a kind, devoted, caring individual. Just this summer we have seen her devote her time and skills to assisting our low-wage clients with empathy and care.
