Hello everyone. The reason for this page has changed as we have an update on Ares. Originally, we had been told it was a bad tooth infection. We now know that it is a mass that we have been told is more than likely cancer. A bit of information about Ares. Ares is the sweetest, most loving nine year old dog you could know. He sat by my husband’s mother all day and night when she was on hospice trying to make her feel better and guard her. You could see in his eyes how determined and concerned he was and that he just wanted her to get better using kisses and cuddling. He is amazing playful brother to our other dogs. As to what’s going on now, we saw the vet on August 25th 2024 and with a closer examination, Ares was diagnosed with a mass which has a 90% chance of being cancerous. So, it was not an abscess as originally thought. In the near future is a follow up appointment is on September 7th 2024, the soonest they could get us in, which will include x-rays under anesthetic because he is very nervous at the vet and sedating him would help avoid some stress for him. The X-rays will show any jaw or lung involvement and if the cancer has spread elsewhere. The reason we need to ask for your help is both John and I recently had major surgeries and money is very short as are other options. We want to make sure Ares get the best care possible because he is our fur baby and means the world to us. The x-ray appointment has a cost range of  $560.00 to $823.00. The x-rays will then determine our next course of action to help Ares, which will most likely include surgery and possibly radiation therapy to fight the cancer. We set up the x-ray appointment ahead of time which requires a minimum pay upon arrival of $350 then we make payment arrangements for the rest of the amount. I am going to set the goal for now for the $823.00, as it would allow us money for the future appointments but if we can even raise the $350 to help cover the down payment we would be very grateful and it would help immensely.  We did not want to ask for help but we are in true need right now and our dogs are our children who we would do anything for. We appreciate any help that can be given. I will keep updating everyone on here to let them know what is happening with Ares.
