My friend Willie Walker is raising funds to help her granddaughter with first-year expenses for college, such as books, a computer, linens, and transportation to and from campus. Willie is famous in New Jersey political circles as the best, hardest-working canvasser and phone banker in the state, and she has clearly passed these values of hard work and determination on to her granddaughter Falastine, who is a National Honors Society student. Let's help her on her way to a college degree! Here is what Falastine wrote: "My name is Falastine Elabed and I’ll be attending Florida Atlantic University in the fall! I’ve been living in New Jersey all my life and I’m very eager to start my journey in Florida. This change in my life is exciting because I feel that my hard work has paid off. Throughout my academic journey, I have remained dedicated and passionate to learn. I’ve consistently sought opportunities to further my growth and provide for my community. I am determined to continue in college and make more of an impact. The transition to Florida is great, but also stressful. A lot of finances are required to go to college and I’m asking for some assistance. I would really appreciate any help anybody could provide financially to support me going to Florida Atlantic University. College is a priority of mine and empowers not only my individual success, but would also help me make a difference to the people around me. I’m grateful for any aid provided and I promise to always prioritize my studies, embrace every opportunity that comes my way, and to never lose sight of my aspirations. Thank you for the support. Sincerely, Falastine Elabed"
