On the 2nd August, we had to rush our beautiful boy Romeo Oreo to our local vets. We knew something was wrong as he was vomiting and seemed incredibly tired. Our local vets determined, with Xrays, that Romeo had eaten a foreign body and recommended that we refer him for specialised care at a local animal referral hospital based in Guildford for removal. We arrived at the referral hospital, who immediately did further investigations to assess where exactly the foreign body was, and how best to remove it. Romeo was rushed into the surgical theatre that night, and the surgeons dealt with a septic abdomen and had to remove a large portion of his bowel that was perforated by the passage of piece of fabric. He also had a second foreign body in his stomach that was removed too. Romeo is still in hospital fighting for his life. The team at the referral hospital are giving him around the clock care in their ICU. His condition is very slowly improving; however his prognosis is still very guarded. Romeo is only 3 years old and is our baby. He is insured however we have already overspent what our insurance will pay out and we are desperately looking for funds to help continue giving him the best chance of recovering. thank you Luis and Joanny
