Hi, our names are Linsey and Alanna. We are Internal Medicine technicians at Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital, and this is one of our dearest patients, Rain. He is an 8-year-old, Maltese mix, who is his owner's best friend. Rain has been diagnosed with a severe collapsing trachea, secondary to an intrathoracic mass pushing on his trachea. This causes him to have extreme difficulty breathing and excessive coughing episodes. Having an exploratory surgery and removal of the mass pushing on his trachea, could very well be curative to his disease. Rain's owner has been facing a hard time over the last few years and has been taking care of not only Rain but his geriatric brother River, who we care for as a patient as well. We would love to be able to help raise the money needed to save Rain, as his current therapies are no longer working to treat his disease. This money will be used to pay for Rain's surgery, recovery, and any other medical expenses that will come with this procedure. Please help us get Rain back to playing with toys and doing the things he loves, and to keep him here with his owner!
