We're the Effervescence Collective -- a group of artists who understand that dance cannot impact its participants and observers without a metaphysical trust, vulnerability, and connection between the people bringing that art to life. We believe in meeting all people where they are, seeing individuality as a strength rather than a threat to conformity, and insisting that dance does not need to adhere to traditional, Western training – or any training at all – to be good, moving and meaningful. We were selected to premiere our debut work as a collective at the Dance Place Open Call Co-Presentation on February 2, 2024 -- and are raising money to make that goal a reality. As a Collective, we aim to remove barriers between artists and opportunities, and have committed to never burdening dancers financially if they want to dance. Your donation will be going towards rehearsal space to create our debut work, and fairly paying our technical professionals for the show including a lighting designer, costume designer and stage manager.
