My name is Annika Rudolph and as co-artistic director of Red Umbrella Theatre Company, I am excited to announce our fundraising campaign for our next production: a site-specific version of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. I met my co-artistic director, Connor Kopko, in 2024 when we were students at the Atlantic Acting School’s summer intensive. The program inspired us to “Learn a craft. Create a theater company. Become a professional.” Throughout the program, Kopko and I would dream of creating a site-specific version of Miller’s play, meaning that we would bring the backyard drama to an actual backyard. As the poignant story unfolds on the back porch, audience members will be immersed in the drama from their lawn chairs. Since November 2024, we have been searching the tri-state area for a performance space that spoke to us, but construction and logistics forced us to continually pivot. In April 2024, we finally found the historical Wayside Cottage in Scarsdale, NY. Seeing the space for the first time gave me goosebumps: in my eyes, the historical cottage became the Kellers’ home. Your donations will go towards design elements, like clip lights and microphones, as well as funding transportation and stipends for our cast and crew. We’ve already spent $500 on the performance rights, as well as $1150 to use the historical Wayside Cottage. As Sebastian says in La La Land, “This is the dream. It's conflict and it's compromise and it's very, very exciting.” To learn more about the work Red Umbrella is doing, visit our webpage or check out this video:
