Hi everyone! Our beautiful friend, Jake Christenson, has a birthday coming up on September 15th. Please help us raise $1500 to honor Jake’s memory by planting a tree on the IU Bloomington campus in order to commemorate all of the work he did in the world of Public Health and policy. Jake graduated from Indiana University’s School of Public Health with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Health Science, focusing his studies in human development and family studies. He then went on to receive a Dual Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration and in Behavioral, Social, Community Health. After graduation, Jake continued to be a strong advocate for the decriminalization and destigmatization of drug use. He worked tirelessly to advance efforts that aided in fighting the ongoing HIV epidemic. He was an active member of many advocacy groups throughout Indianapolis with a personal mission to bring positive change to the inequitable Public Health policies and legislation in our state.Jake was on track to start his journey towards earning a doctorate degree in the realm of Public Health just before his passing in January 2024. The money raised via this fundraiser will go directly to the ‘Woodland Campuses Initiative’ at Indiana University and will officially allow us to choose a spot on campus for Jake’s tree. Our hope is for him to be forever memorialized in a place that he loved so deeply, where he began the work that he dedicated his life and career to. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donation. With love,Jake’s family and friends
