Greetings. Picking a salutation was unnervingly difficult as is this entire ordeal. We are the family and friends of Erica Vail and we are reaching out in this dark hour for assistance. As many already know, Erica had recently undergone a great deal of hardship leading to the near complete loss of her vision in both eyes. This came as a shock after spending years battling lupus and sickle cell anemia; an often-fatal combination. Still, she prevailed, caring for her young autistic daughter, Turner, alone in the very house that caused Erica to fall ill with bacterial meningitis. The infection coupled with a malign cyst on her brain placed her in a cationic state for some time. Through God’s grace and all of love and support, Erica pulled through that ardeous fiasco after undergoing a harrowing surgery to drain that cyst from her brain. Through all of that, Erica smiled, she laughed, she cried, and she supported her friends, may of whom she considered to be family. Now her family needs all of us to support in this unfathomable tragedy of being accidentally shot dead in the street during a neighborhood brawl. She left behind 3 children. As a community, we failed Erica by allowing a simple dispute to end in gun violence. Let’s not fail Turner. Help us raise money to give Erica Vail proper send off and to give a Turner a proper fresh start. Thanks in advance. Don’t forget to hug your loved ones today.
