THANK YOU FOR THE INITIAL DONATION OF 2000€ FOR PURCHASING MATERIALS FOR THE BOYS DORMITORY! Hi! We are two volunteers (Caroline and Maura) raising funds for the orphanage/boarding school we’ve been volunteering at for the past few weeks - Bright English Medium School. It’s a school located in rural Tanzania, with children from Maasai and other neighboring tribes, as well as orphans and non-orphans. All these kids have very little access to education and/or basic necessities - often being forced back into the common practice of child labor, and many girls being victims of female genital mutilation. After having achieved the original goal for the dormitory (see below) any help is welcome, and will be used for: Warm clothes for the children: Many are barefoot and in T-Shirts, with temperatures dropping to 9 degrees celcius Improving classroooms conditions: i.e. installing windows, purchasing chairs, etc. Food: Their daily meals consist of a mix of wheat and water, with some beans on the side. We want to ensure that there is always enough of this, and ideally foods like lentils or cabagge. THANK YOU FOR THE INITIAL DONATION OF 2000€ FOR PURCHASING MATERIALS FOR THE BOYS DORMITORY! Currently, the boys have no proper accommodation as they are sleeping in the classrooms where they are taught. The Tanzanian government has put pressure on the school, claiming that should they not finalize the construction of a dormitory, the boys will have to return to their homes (or streets), as they will be effectively expelled from the school. Please help us speed up the process of construction to assure a Bright future for the boys. Anything is highly appreciated.
