I’m so upset writing this, it really makes me so sad. Our dog Brix is 3 years old and she is the sweetest little baby. She is such a loving and happy girl. A few months ago we noticed that she was acting strange.. She loved going to the park and suddenly had no interest in going. She would get zoomies in the grass and book it up our stairs. Now she’s not even interested in playing with her ball or toys or our little dog Mac.. We got her into the vet as soon as we noticed her change in behavior. She was running a fever and lethargic. They proscribed her antibiotics first. After she finished the first round, we had another check in with her vet and we didn’t see any improvement. More tests were ran, they suspected valley fever and was put on a trial of valley fever medication and a second round of antibiotics. Still we hadn’t noticed any change in her demeanor we brought her back to her vet and they were unsure what could be going on with her, She had pretty serious anemia and has a consistent fever and has been loosing weight. They suggested multiple different ways to go testing wise. We went home and decided what we wanted to move forward with and during that time Brix whites of her eyes turned yellow and was peeing super dark. Immediately I took her in and our primary vet referred me to and emergency clinic with an internal medicine specialist and suggested I go there immediately. I took her in right then and we were not expecting to find out that her condition had progressed so much. We still don’t have a diagnosis, and she needs to go through rigorous testing and a potential blood transfusion. They basically told me 2 options, do this testing & hospitalize her for a couple of days. or take home a steroid and figure out what we want to do. It was so shocking to me and now I don’t know what to do. She is my little child and she’s only 3 years old. I really want to help her but we just don’t have the means. We are just asking for help if you can. Funds will go to her hospitalization, testing and medication. Kassiddi & Dylan
