Hello and good evening... My name is Billy; Three days ago my family suffered a tragedy by way of losing my step-dad Larry Dean Groves (Aged 84 years). Larry and my mother were married on 15 May 2012 after having met on missionary work while serving the lord. Larry a widower and my mom a widow found common ground in doing the Lord's work and opened a food pantry that became the top-rated nonprofit food pantry in Fort Smith Arkansas. The pantry would feed from 65 to 100 families per week at no charge to those in need... this was their heart's work! Over the time they were married, I knew him to be an amazing dad to his 4 children, two daughters and two sons; to me his stepson and an amazing grandpa to my children. His kindness and faith in God were unparalleled by anyone I've ever known. So now he has passed and my 76-year-old mother has advised due to their age there were no insurance policy benefits for death or burial. So I'm coming to you those I may know and those I may not with proverbial hat in hand asking for help. We were shocked to learn his funeral expenses will be $8000 and medical bills are certainly soon to follow. Simply put I did not know he and my mother had not prepared for this event. So I'm asking for two things... First, pray for all of those that loved Larry (Grandpa) and secondly, if it is within your means; please help financially so that my mother is not saddled with something she simply cannot handle on a little social security income. In closing... I KNOW that everyone is struggling on some level so I assure you that every single penny will be appreciated more than you know and I only pray that your blessings and prayers be returned to you 10 fold. Thank you in advance.... and God bless! Update… funeral is done and was sad but amazing. Lots of stories filled with love and respect regarding Larry. I’d like to take the time to thank you all so very much for your generosity and kindness! I have 23 more days to collect funds and I’m going to continue to pray for generous people to take us to the finish line. My mom, family and I thank you SO very much! Blessings everyone.
