Tiny is a sweet little goat with a not-so-little udder—it's a birth defect that has gotten worse and worse throughout her life. When Tiny was young, her owners Diane and Tom noticed that she had what is called a "precocious udder." This means that, due to a hormonal issue, her udder developed even though she wasn't pregnant. Sadly, her biological mom rejected her because of this birth defect. Hoping to resolve the issue, Diane and Tom eventually bred Tiny. Fortunately, she was able to produce milk and feed her babies despite her condition! Sadly, after she was done nursing her babies, her udder did not shrink to a normal size. They have also tested Tiny for mastitis—a condition that can result in enlarged udders. Although the tests came back negative, they treated her for mastitis nonetheless to do whatever they could to relieve her of her discomfort. Sadly, nothing has worked so far. The udder has grown and grown, and a recent ultrasound showed that it's full of solid tissue. The udder is uncomfortable for Tiny, especially when she's in heat and it gets even bigger. The best option for Tiny is to get her udder removed—an "udderectomy" if you will. Vets in Colorado, where Tiny lives, have quoted as low as $1,000 and as high as $2,000 for the procedure. So we are trying to raise $1,500 to help Tiny get the care she needs to live her life to the fullest—without anything weighing her down or holding her back. Any excess funds raised will go to Diane and Tom to help with other goat and alpaca expenses. My name is Mallory and I'm hosting this fundraiser on behalf of Tiny. I met her in Spring 2024 while camping at Diane and Tom's ranch. When I learned about her condition I knew deep in my bones that I could help her because I knew that there were people out there who would be moved by her story—just like me—and who would want to help raise money for the surgery. Any amount you can donate to the cause is so appreciated! Thank you.
