The friends of Andrew (Dave) Ward all wanted to get together and help the Ward family in some way. The loss of their son Griffin is devastating. After years of 24/7 care, the family decided to take Griffin off support and give him a compassionate death. Griffin suffered from CHAOS - a rare congenital anomaly (present before birth) characterized by a blockage of the airway. He also suffered from seizures. These conditions brought an onslaught of other medical emergencies. His little body went through multiple surgeries, innumerable hospital visits, and various therapies in his short life; Andrew and Anna were there for him every step of the way. As friends, we will be there for services, but weren't sure how else we could help. Andrew let us know in our group chat that his company did not offer him bereavement time, and if he was to take time off it would have to be unpaid. Can you imagine losing a child and not getting the proper time to grieve? He has already used his PTO with appointments and services for Griffin and therefore would HAVE to work during the most difficult time of his life to pay the bills. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Shame on the leadership of his company - they must do better. So instead we are trying to raise funds so Andrew can take bereavement, pay for services, and catch up on years of medical bills. Please help our friend. Every little bit will add up to go a long way in remembrance of little G-man and in support of Andrew and Anna. Thank you.
