Sxm Skate Sessions is a grassroots initiative started by local skaters looking to grow and enhance the skate scene on Sint Maarten. We started in February 2024 hosting informal skate sessions and helping people to learn and experience the sport and its community. Now we regularly attract over 30 visitors each week with handmade obstacles and 12 donated boards for visitors to use for free and keep learning. After more than 2 years of sessions, lessons, and handmade obstacles we are finally looking to raise funds towards professional pre-fabricated equipment to enhance the space, add versatility and longevity to obstacles, and continue promoting the sport for all levels and ages. With your help we’ll be able to purchase new professional obstacles from OCramps with handles and wheels for easy maneuvering and skate paint for weather protection, as well as 4 sheets of skatelite pro surfacing to restore current ramps that are wearing down due to rain and heavy use.
