On August 1st, at 1:30 am, we rushed Nova to the emergency room, panic gripping our hearts as we watched her whimper in pain and pant relentlessly. The doctors initially diagnosed an upset tummy and sent her home, after just an hour of being at the ER, but the relief was short-lived. Just 12 hours later, at 2 pm, Nova was back at the ER, and this time, the situation was dire. The tension in her back was unbearable, and she could hardly walk without wincing in pain. It was agonizing to see our vibrant, playful baby girl suffer. Since then, Nova has been in the care of the ER team, but her condition hasn't improved. We were heartbroken when we couldn't bring her home on August 2nd, knowing that she longed for familiar surroundings and the comfort of our presence. The fear of aspiration pneumonia and her persistent back pain has kept her in the hospital's care, away from the love and warmth of her home. Over the past two days, we've poured our hearts and finances into covering the mounting medical expenses, spending approximately $8,990 in our desperate attempt to save her. At 2:00 am today, August 3rd, another devastating blow struck us – Nova urgently needs surgery at a specialized facility, with the cost estimated at between a staggering $15,000-$20,000. As tears welled up in our eyes, we realized that we simply can't bear the weight of this financial burden alone. Our hearts ache at the thought of not being able to provide Nova with the life-saving surgery she so desperately needs. She's not just a pet; she's our loyal and loving best friend, the one who lifts our spirits with her goofy antics and unconditional love. We humbly reach out to you, dear community, in the hope that you'll join us in this fight for Nova's life.
