Howdy! My name is Rachael matthews, sometimes I go by Richie Kay, and I am fundraising to afford emergency care for my ESA, Gravy. Gravy is my 4-year-old bull terrier who I rescued about 8 months ago. She is the brightest light in my life and has helped me recover from suffering from depression and PTSD. What happened, why do we need help? Gravy and I just moved into our new home and in the chaos of unpacking, Gravy got ahold of two 10ft nylon moving straps and ate several feet of both straps. We went to the vet right away to induce vomiting and they got some results, a few feet came back out. However, after an x-ray it turns out there is still alot left in her. What will the treatment be? Gravy needs an endoscopy to prevent surgery and save her life. While Gravy is under anesthesia, the vet will send a scope into her belly, and with a small arm they can grab the foreign materials and pull them out before they go into her intestines. If she does not get care immediately, there is a significant risk of the material going into her intestine and causing a blockage. This will result in severe pain for Gravy and there can be many complications including death. If she does not get the care she desperately needs, I fear I may lose my best friend. The amount of the goal is based on the estimate we got from our vet. Any help at all is so very appreciated, even if it may not seem like much. Gravy is my reason to get out of bed, to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. She reminds me to slow down and listen to the wind in the trees and watch the birds fly around the yard. She has improved the quality of my life significantly, before Gravy came into my life I struggled to get out of bed and do basic tasks like eating and bathing. Since she has been with me I go for daily walks with her and we hike several times a month, take trips to the river, and explore with excitement instead of the fear I was used to feeling. Please please consider helping us out. If you aren't in a place where you can help financially, please share this with your friends and family!! Thank you so much for taking the time and reading our page, it means the world to us. Any help is good help and I thank every single person from the bottom of my heart who is able to spread this message and donate if possible.
