Hi! My name is Kristin. I am raising money to pay for my daughter's best friend, Grace, a 6yr old female English Mastiff. She has cancer :( & There's more too...... My daughter is a junior in college and is hoping to have a bright future, her path has not been easy at all. She also has been diagnosed with some health issues. One is chronic, very painful migraines. She never knows how tomorrow will be for her... pain or no pain? She's working with doctors, but due to her health issues, she's not been able to go out and do things like an average teen or young adult. Social skills are hard now, due to being in pain and stuck at home trying to at least get her studies done so she can graduate college. Sadly, a year ago in February, her dog of 12 yrs fell suddenly ill and had to be put down due to a rare illness. It was devastating to her and our family! We were mourning him and had no intention of getting another dog since we had just lost our dog. In June 2024, we were given an opportunity to rescue a 5 yr old English Mastiff named Grace. We were hesitant that it was too soon, but something just seemed like we should do it. So we did! Note... we've been Mastiff owners before and we know them well. My daughter grew up with these majestic creatures. We introduced Grace to our whole family, but Grace seemed to KNOW why she was sent to us. And Just like that...she latched onto my daughter! They have been inseparable for a year! There is NO doubt in my mind that Grace came here to help save our daughter and us. About 2 weeks ago, Grace was running in our yard and came back limping on her front left leg. We thought maybe she sprained it, but after we gave attention to a sprain, it started getting worse, not better. We took her in for X-rays and are still in shock to this day, we were told she has aggressive cancer. We are devasted!  The good news is X-rays show it so far is contained to just 1 leg. We may have caught it in time! Oncology says if they amputate her bad leg since she's otherwise in very good health, she is a perfect candidate for the surgery and chemo. Grace could live! Since my daughter developed her health issues, she has not had many opportunities to make friends. She has anxiety and Grace has helped her SO much with all of this! ❤ I thank God for every second we've had Grace, bc she's an angel to us! She has helped my daughter feel better, and her migraines have even gotten better! She's gained self-confidence and for the 1st time in a long time, my daughter feels better and is happy! Grace too is SO happy, bc she gets new toys almost daily to keep her busy while she waits for surgery. : ) Due to this new ridiculously high economy that has suddenly fallen upon us all, everything is SO much more expensive to survive, including Veterinary services! The prices are mind-blowing! That is why I am creating this fund. We just need to try to save Grace! She's nowhere ready to go to heaven yet. They are like 2 peas in a pod and I don't even want to think what it could do to my daughter's mental and physical state again if Grace can't have her surgery?! So, please... If we can't come up with the money, Grace is terminal. The surgery is set for Jul 31st. That's IF we can come up with the funds. The surgery is due to cost up to $5500-6500K. Any remaining would be used for her chemo treatments and prescriptions after surgery. As a mother that has been thru a lot in life as well, I'm asking anyone who can afford to help save our very special English Mastiff and in doing so, will also help save our sweet daughter too. I thank you all in advance and wish you all the best! Amazing Grace has a whole new meaning for us now. Pure Love. Respectfully with much gratitude, Kristin
