Hi there, My name is Elisabeth, and I am fundraising to relocate five incredible furry friends to Europe! Mars, Jupy, and Blanka were rescued as small puppies at the beginning of 2024 from the streets of Dahab, a small town by the Red Sea in Egypt. They have been cared for by different people over the past year but are now in need of new homes. Finding them new homes in Dahab is nearly impossible, as thousands of street animals fight for their lives every single day. They are taken to the mountains where they struggle to find food or water, they face the dangers of being poisoned or shot. Unfortunately, the local community is largely unaware of animal rights, resulting in daily abuse and suffering for many animals. While some beautiful souls are doing their best to help, their efforts are just a drop on the burning hot stone! There is a lack of awareness about treating animals with respect and love, and there are no funds to address the issue of overpopulation of puppies and kittens. I have decided that it is best to bring them to Europe and find them new loving families here. I arrived in Egypt at the end of June and gave myself two weeks to prepare them for their journey, which will take place in October/November after their blood tests have been cleared. And as funny as the Universe works it threw in two more kittens...Salem and Simah, both with severe eye infections. Lucky them they found themselves outside of my current Airbnb...and of course, I had to take them in and get them the medical treatment needed. All animals are now in the care of rescue organizations who are helping me to keep them safe and get them ready to travel. This rescue mission is consuming all of my energy and it is also draining my savings accounts. Here is a breakdown of the costs involved: Medical costs (including microchips, vaccinations, and tests): Approximately €300 per animal. Boarding for three to four months until they are cleared to travel: Around €800 per dog and €200 per cat. Travel expenses: Approximately €250 per animal. Considering that I have these expenses for five animals the total amount is more then I can afford at this moment. I appreciate every dollar you can spare to support my mission and help these animals find safety. If you are unable to contribute financially, that is completely understandable.
