Hi, my name is Samuel Daswani. I am 18 years old and I live in Fort Myers, Florida. My Background I have been practicing karate for the last 9 years. During the last 5 years of competing, my goal was to become a member of the USA Team and represent my country in the sport of Karate. Earning My Spot I have worked non-stop almost every single day to climb my way to that goal. I trained my absolute hardest the last year. I went through blood, sweat, and tears to train for this goal. Getting the Job Done Gratefully, I got the chance to compete in the 2024 Nationals for Karate in Richmond, Virginia. I secured my spot on the Junior National Team in fighting. I finally completed my long-term goal. I was filled with so much emotion and I could not thank God enough. The Struggle It was a struggle financially to even be at Nationals. I paid for almost half my trip with the money I received from my job. I believe God will provide. Qualifications Placing in the top 2 for my category also meant that I qualified to go to Pan-American Championships. This will be held in Santiago, Chile (at the beginning of August). Why do I want to go to PKF? This trip is not a vacation for me to spend time in a different country and make friends. This is an opportunity to compete and do my absolute best. This trip is meant to represent my country, my family, and most importantly Jesus. I will have countless opportunities to share my faith with the people around me. I believe God can use me on and off the mat to help others. How You Can Help Me All of the money that is donated is going directly to the trip. Any amount of money is very appreciated.
