Hi Friends, Eric O’Daly here. I’m writing this because my partner, Natalie Reider, needs your help. Her beloved cat, Mae, spent the last week in the emergency veterinary hospital, dealing with an obstruction in her small intestine that became life-threatening. She had to stay for several days in the hospital and undergo emergency surgery in order to save her life. Mae has been with Natalie for 11 years and is a member of the family to us, so there was no choice but to go through with the surgery. During her surgery, Mae lost a lot of blood, and her red blood cell count dropped into a critical range. She struggled to come off of the anesthesia because of this and her significant weight loss due to the obstruction- and we were nearly certain we had lost her. Requiring very close monitoring, Mae had to stay in the emergency hospital for a week. As you may have guessed, veterinary bills are no joke. Natalie is in grad school at this time, finishing up her master’s degree in counseling, and is working 20 hours a week, which is enough to just cover her monthly expenses while she finishes her schooling. Hence, this LFEBridge. The bills for the hospital stay and surgery total $8500. Natalie took out a credit card to put a down payment on the bills, but she has a very full plate between taking classes, doing her internship (which is unpaid), and working on the side to make ends meet. If you can contribute anything at all, we would be very grateful. All funds will go to paying off the debt for Mae's surgery Thank you in advance. May you and yours be well. Eric Attached here are photos of the x-ray of Mae's obstruction, her initial bill from Blue Pearl Veterinary Clinic, and her final bill from Plainfield Animal Emergency Hospital.
