The Morris High School Bass Fishing Team has accomplished an incredible feat this season; our two-angler team of Gage Phillips and Caden Nelson qualified to fish in the Bassmaster High School National Championship Tournament on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC. Only 29 two-angler teams in all of Illinois qualified to fish in the National Championship Tournament! Gage and Caden have worked hard all year to qualify to fish in the National Championship but they can't get there without the help of the local community. Our regular season costs $9,000 of which the high school covers $3,000, so we are responsible to raise $6,000 each year just to fish the regular season. The high school also does not provide any funds for the National Championship so we are asking you to help us out. The fuel to tow a boat to South Carolina and back, and one week lodging for the anglers and boat captain adds up to a considerable expense. Although we have student-raised funds, we need approximately $2,500 more to cover the costs of going to the Bassmaster National Championship. Any donation that you can make is greatly appreciated! If we exceed our fundraising goal we will apply the additional amount to the $6,000 that we need to raise for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your consideration!
