Hi, my name is Mone’ Smalling. As some of you know I have been in Esthetician school and am very close to graduating. It’s been my dream to learn about all things wellness and beauty. Its one of my passions! To me, it is more than just skin deep, it’s about taking the time to put yourself first, no matter how stressful and crazy life can get. Loving yourself despite the chaos is one of the most beautiful thing. Although this has been one of the most amazing times in my life it has also been the hardest season I’ve had to face. Almost every day is a “double.” I work a full time job and then go to school until 10:15 at night. All the spare time I do have I fill with different ways to serve the lord, including weekly kids ministry small groups and LOTS of fellowship, so in total I spend 3 days a week in church. As you can imagine, i've been spread incredibly thin to accomplish this goal of mine but I wouldn’t change it for the world, every aspect is needed and important for the life I envision for myself. The good news is I graduate at the end of August. The scary news is my tuition is $12,000 and I am required to pay $4,800 of it before my graduation date or I will not receive my diploma. My Mom has contributed as much as she can already, so the rest is up to me. I recently encountered an unexpected car repair which has set me way back from what I had saved. So, I decided to try to throw out this “hail Mary” in hopes that with all of my friends and family, and hopefully, the kindness of strangers can maybe help contribute towards this balance, so that I can continue working towards making my dreams come true. If I can somehow, miraculously, reach this goal of $5,000 I can achieve my goal of graduating and obtaining my diploma in August.
