Hello all, I am hoping to raise some funds to help me afford college in the USA. I'm 19 years old and have been offered a Soccer / Football Scholarship in the United States to be a student athlete. The Scholarship subsidised the costs slightly, however I am still looking at around $14,000 per year. I have been working for the past 3 years (6 months of which were in Canada) however will still struggle to cover the costs myself. This is a great opportunity and I believe it will be a big push for women and girls from smaller and lesser known areas (such as Halifax) to not underestimate themselves. I've been playing football since I was 9 years old and it has always been a huge part of my life. It has helped me through stress, depression, isolation and allowed me to overcome social fears I have previously had. It has always provided me with a sense of belonging and community, whilst allowing me to stay active and healthy. This opportunity that has been offered to me is something of which I have a great deal of determination to pursue, but any help with the financial side is greatly appreciated.
