Early in 2024, Kaitlin Randolph noticed a strange lump developing on the back of her beloved cat, Stella Rosa. As any concerned pet parent would, Kaitlin took Stella Rosa to her vet as quickly as possible. The recommended course of action was surgery for the lump to be removed and biopsied. After consulting with a surgeon, Kaitlin was told the lump was 90% likely to be cancerous, and that a prompt surgery would be needed to confirm that prognosis. Stella Rosa's June 13th surgery was a success; the lump was removed and she began her recovery: On June 20th, the test results came in and confirmed that the lump was indeed cancerous. While it was now removed, the diagnosis was not what anyone was hoping for: mammary carcinoma, grade 3, with lymph node metastasis. Stella Rosa had a month of recovering at home with her sister Flora Belle, Kaitlin making sure she was comfortable. She was even taken on a little road trip to Kaitlin's hometown of Drummond, Wisconsin for some R&R with her "grandpurrents." Over the month between Stella Rosa's surgery and follow-up, Kaitlin discovered new lumps starting to form. At the July 15th follow-up appointment, the surgeon proposed additional surgery followed by chemo. If you know Kaitlin, you know her cats are her children and more important to her than anything. Please consider donating to help Kaitlin pay for Stella Rosa's continued care so she can focus on spending as much time with Stella Rosa as possible without stressing about the impact this care will have on her finances. Thank you! ❤️ Bonus Stella Rosa photo from 2015, when Kaitlin first adopted her:
