Hello friends of Jin and Ryan and animal lovers alike! My name is Sharan, and I am fundraising on behalf of two of the most wonderful people we all know to help with the costs associated with their beloved 13-year old cat, Bunny's surgeries. On 7/6, Jin and Ryan were given the sad news that Bunny has breast cancer. The options were a regional surgery to remove the mass or a double mastectomy (starting with one side then doing the other) that stands a better chance of removing anything malignant that might have spread in the system. After conferring with their vet and a few people who have experienced similar diagnoses with their cats, Jin and Ryan have elected for the latter option: a mastectomy, one side at a time, beginning with the first surgery on 7/24. This is an expensive endeavor, given the nature of the procedure coupled with the fact that Jin and Ryan live in New York City where animal care can be punishingly pricey. These two are among the most generous, kind, and helpful people we know - Jin, through her tremendous support of women's rights and the LGBTQ community, and Ryan, with his ability to fix and build just about anything. If you are lucky enough to know these people, you have experienced their generosity and selflessness first-hand.
