Hello, my name is Cailey and in the early morning hours today I suddenly lost my best friend Sammi unexpectedly. I am experiencing financing hardship due to being self employed with a small business that has been severely impacted by the current economy. I am raising these funds to travel from my home in New York to Portland Oregon to be there for her services. Airfare, rental car, food and an Airbnb while there. Sammi was born with a life long disability and at just 25 years old became an advocate for others with disabilities including accessibility and services. She constantly challenged what her disability meant and never let it hold her back. She is a well known local and published model, going by the name Wheelchair Blondie. She forever chased adventure, travel, would go skiing, played soccer, all while in a wheelchair. She regularly went to the gym to gain strength so she could get up out of her chair and maintained a positive and hopeful outlook, becoming a beacon of strength for both disable individuals and able bodied people, alike. Sammi was able to come visit me just 20 days ago where we had an opportunity to be together before her passing. I am completely devastated by this loss of my best friend who I also was able to ask to be the maid of honor in my wedding next year. I just want to be there for her family which is basically my own and want to find closure in my heart by attending her services. Thank you so much for considering donating.
