Hi, I'm Savannah, aka SAV. I have been presented with the opportunity of a lifetime, and I am realizing that the help of my community is necessary to make it happen. In January, I was selected for a playing slot on the Yellow Brick Road tour, an opportunity presented by Dancefestopia for a chance to play at that festival. It was a battle-of-the-bands type scenario, and I won the crowd vote, securing a playing spot for me at Dancefestopia. This was only months after I started playing shows, and the importance of this is not lost upon me. As the festival gets closer (September 8th-10th), the stress of travel has come to the forefront. Kansas is not next door to Washington. This would be either a multi-day road trip or a very expensive flight. DJing is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I have always loved music, but have never been able to work with it as I would like. Learning how to DJ connected me to the most cathartic practice I could ever imagine. Life is never perfect, but having an outlet like this that rewards me with such opportunities that make me feel loved, appreciated, and heard more than I ever have in my entire life. No matter how I get here, it is going to take some money. If we drive, it is a multi-day road trip across the country, and I will have to pay for gas and places to sleep on the way. If we fly, it takes away a lot of the effort, but purchasing flight tickets in 2024 seems to require an arm and a leg. I will make this happen no matter what. I have to. This opportunity is too good not to. In order to focus more on the passion that I love and ensure that I enjoy it like I am supposed to, I have to swallow my pride and ask my people for help. Any money donated would directly go towards travel/food/accommodations so we can comfortably make it and enjoy this experience. If, for some reason, there is excess after travel, it will directly go towards upgrading my DJ equipment to something beyond a DDJ-SB3. If you read all of that, thank you.
