Please Help  "Elsa's Pride" Cat Colony in NW OhioI have helped care for Elsa's Pride, a feral/stray cat colony in northwest Ohio, for the past several years.I have been providing much needed medical care and spay/neutering for these very precious souls at my own expense, but now need help as the colony has grown. This past year I have spent over $1,200 in medical care alone, including spays, neuters, and medications. I would like to help control the rapidly growing population with more spays/neuters as well as adopting them into homes when possible.Elsa's Pride gets it's name from a very special cat I met while caring for the colony in 2013.  I met "Elsa the Lioness"  when she was old, weary, and pregnant with her upteenth litter of kittens. I now believe half of the cats in the colony are her descendents. I have known and loved so many feral cats over the years, but Elsa and I quickly developed a very deep bond between us. She would follow me around,  fearlessly making eye contact with me, as if she was trying to tell me something, despite the loud outcries of my very vocal lab, Gracie. ;) I later found her very malnourished litter of four kittens. Elsa worked tirelessly to nurse and find food for them from the campground, but despite her best efforts, two of them died, I believe from starvation. I later learned she was just too sick to keep them alive on her own. That's what she needed me for. After months of working to  gain her trust, I was able to catch both her and her two surviving kittens. Despite living outside for so many years, she seemed visibly relieved when I delivered her and her babies to their forever home. Elsa lived only 7 more months before succumbing to kidney disease, but she died knowing her kittens were safe and loved. I made a promise to Elsa to care for the rest of her family to the best of my ability. I now ask your help to enable me keep that promise. No donation is too small and will go directly to the care of Elsa's Pride.  It all adds up and everything helps.  :) $15    Food for the Colony for a Day$30    Food for the Colony  for 2 Days$50    Food for the Colony  for 3 Days$70    Cost of Spay/Neuter for Feral/Strays at Local Vet$100 Food for the Colony for a WeekFor donations of $50 and up, a unique set of hand-crafted greeting cards will be sent to you as a thank you gift. Thank you so much for any help you can provide and for sharing this fundraiser! <3
