UPDATE AFTER SURGERY: 9/06/23 Juna had her surgery on Fri Sept 1. This was for her FHO (hip) and spay. She did well and is healing wonderfully. She will have her stitches removed on sept 15. From there she will start physical therapy/rehab with me. This will be a 4 week process. She will be available for adoption as soon as Sept 23. She will make an excellent family dog especially in a home with young kids. She is great with dogs and kids. Thanks to everyone who helped donate and get the word out for this. We raised just $100 short of all her vet visits. Including the emergency visit she had in August. I could not have done this without you! THANK YOU! I'd love to ask one more favor from everyone - please help get this sweet girl adopted! If you know anyone looking for an older puppy/young dog - have them contact me at [email redacted] _________________ UPDATE AFTER FIRST VET VISIT: 7/21/23 Juna was finally seen at the vet. Turns out this sweet girl has a broken hip and is in extreme pain. She will require surgery. The vet I am working with has been offering a significant discount and we have lucked out for this. The total for Friday's visit was $346.77. I used the first set of donations ($750) to pay for this. This visit included the office visit, xrays, a fecal, and complimentary Nexgard for a small dermal infection she had on her foot and tail. Her broken hip consists of a broken femoral head which has died and completely crumbled. The vet has recommended doing a Femoral Head Ostectomy rather than an amputation or hip replacement. I have decided to move forward with this procedure as it is the most cost-effective and "easier" procedure. This will also come with a 6-week recovery period, of which I will continue boarding her. We could really use some additional help in raising the new additional $1,550 for her surgery. This amount will be the cost of her surgery and the spay, vaccines and microchip. While this is a large amount I am asking for, it truly is a phenomenal price for what is happening. If you are unable to help donate at this time, please please consider sharing this post/fundraiser to help us. You are also more than welcome to call the vet's office and make a donation directly to the account. The vet office I am using is The Animal Care Center of Fairfield [phone redacted] The account number is 58054 for Juna Salus. I have also added pictures of the bill from 7/21/23 and the Treatment plan (estimate) for her surgery. ________________ Hi, on the Fourth of July, I was contacted regarding an injured dog that was seen living near railroad tracks in Hartwell/Wyoming for about a week. No one was able to catch her. I spent about 9 hours to allow her to warm up to me and I was finally able to trap her and bring her home for boarding. She had no microchip and no tags on her collar. She was extremely underweight. She was scared, hungry, and confused. She does have a rear leg injury and needs routine vet care. I do not have the funds to fully provide the vet care she will need. I have named her Juna. She is a 6 month old pitbull mix with beautiful amber eyes. She has warmed up to most people and is so incredibly sweet and playful. As of now, I have started the goal at $450 for the initial vet visits, x-rays, bloodwork, vaccinations, and microchip. I am unsure of how severe her injury is and it could increase the needed price for vet care. Anything you can contribute would be so helpful. All funds will go to Juna's vet costs and any additional costs for her such as food and supplies. I have been offering free training for her while she is in my care and is doing great. Thank you so much!
