Hi everyone! My name is Marie Barroca, and I'm trying to raise money for a humanitarian trip. I am a junior studying marketing at the BYU Marriott School of Business. Apart from being a full-time student, I also work as a teaching assistant. I will be sacrificing an entire semester to volunteer as an English teacher in San Jose, Costa Rica. This is completely unpaid, and I will be dedicating my time serving low-income families. I decided to do this because I wanted to take some time to be a part of something bigger than myself. I wanted to immerse myself in an entirely different lifestyle, culture, and atmosphere to gain a new perspective on my life and life in general. Through the International Language Program (ILP), I will have the opportunity to live in San Jose, Costa Rica, for four months (January-May) to teach children of low-income families. Costa Rica's economy is very dependent upon tourism. As a result, giving these children an English education will open up job opportunities and the chance to achieve a higher education. Donations of any amount will be very appreciated. All the money will go towards living expenses, so that I can go and teach there. I know that your contribution will make a positive impact on the lives of these families. I'll place a link below providing more information about the program. Thank you for the support! https://ilp.org/costa-rica/
